NATIONAL HOLISTIC PET DAY: AUGUST 30TH
National Holistic Pet Day is a day to acknowledge the importance of whole pet health. But what does ‘holistic’ mean anyway? Well the Miriam-Webster dictionary defines holistic as “relating to or concerned with complete systems rather than with individual parts”. What does that mean for your pet and their health? A holistic lifestyle takes in to account your whole pet’s health instead of focusing on just a singular system or problem. It suggests that you don’t just reach for chemicals or medications when your pet is having issues, and instead look at your pet as a whole to search for answers. Choices in food, exercise and mental stimulation all factor into the health and well-being of your pet, affecting their physical, behavioral and emotional health. Strengthening the body and the mind through natural holistic foods, regular exercise and mental stimulation, and regular health care with alternative methods, can help your pets live longer, healthier lives.
