3. SPRINKLE AND ENJOY

1. Place the first cookie face down on a plate or cookie sheet

2. Spoon out the filling onto the cookie

At first glance, these seasonal goodies look a lot like the ones you serve to friends and family. But this year, they’re just for pets, and pets only. We’ve packed our recipes full of the nutrients dogs and cats need. But remember, portion size matters, even on a special occasion.

FROZEN HOLIDAY FEAST

Everyone can join in the feasting with this delicious recipe, which combines three classic fall flavors: pumpkin, cranberry and turkey, Just fill your treat molds, freeze and serve as a snack or meal topper.

SERVE TO:

PREP

• Spoon the freshly cooked entree into Messy Mutts treat maker until each mold is one third of the way full
• Fill the next third of each mold with Weruva pumpkin puree
• Top off each mold with a splash of Primal cranberry goat milk
• Place treat maker in freezer until frozen solid, at least two hours
• Once treats are frozen, move them to a resealable bag or container and store in freezer
• Feed as a snack or meal topper

*Serving note for dogs under 25 lbs: Each Messy Mutts mold has a notch mid-section, so you can easily cut frozen treats in half for smaller, 1/2 ounce portions.

Remember, avoid anything that’s dangerous for pets, especially grapes, macadamia nuts, chocolate, onions and garlic.

• Start with a small, clean cutting board or plate
• Add your pet’s regular food for up to half of the board
• Add some tasty treats and frozen cubes as accents
• Add fresh or frozen fruits and veggies
• Take a few pictures to show off and let your pet enjoy!

CRANBERRY “BREAD” PUDDING

This treat is a great way to indulge your pet and help their digestion, all at the same time. Goat milk is full of gut-friendly probiotics, pumpkin has fiber to keep things moving, and cranberries are packed with powerful antioxidants.

Based on your pet’s size:
Up to 20 pounds: 1-3 treats
Up to 50 pounds: 3-5 treats
Over 50 pounds: 5-7 treats

  • In a small dish, layer your dog or cat treats
  • For dogs, break the Fruitables into smaller pieces, so the goat milk soaks in faster
  • Pour recommended amount of goat milk on top
  • Let goat milk soak into treats for 5-10 minutes, to create a bread pudding texture
  • You’re ready to serve, but keep portions small to avoid an upset stomach

LUMP OF COAL COOKIES

Give it to your pet as a special reward for being good, or when they’re on the naughty list for eating something they weren’t supposed to. Either way, this tasty recipe will make their stomach very happy. The activated charcoal in these cookies actually combats gas and tummy upsets. But due to its binding properties, you don’t want to feed this recipe daily.

SERVE TO:

INGREDIENTS

• ½ cup The Honest Kitchen Whole Grain Beef Recipe Dehydrated Dog Food
• 1 egg
• 1 oz. cream cheese
• ½ tbsp. activated charcoal

PREP

• Preheat oven to 375°
• Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend
• Roll into bite-sized balls
• Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes
• Allow them to cool and serve
• Store in the freezer and thaw as needed
