National Pet ID Week is a time to raise awareness and urge pet parents to properly tag and chip their four-legged family members.

We often think it won’t happen to us – but pets get lost every single day and simply having a collar, tag or chip is the most effective way to ensure that they will make it back home safely.

Keep your pets happy and healthy and safe this year with these simple checks:

Is your pet properly chipped and registered?Microchips help to get animals home even if their collars and tags fall off.  Many pets have been chipped, but have not been registered.  If you’re unsure, head into your vet to have your pet scanned and then call the company to confirm that your information is accurate.

Does your pet wear his/her collar and ID tag every day? When you leave the house make sure your animal has its collar on.

Check your pet’s ID tag.  Can you still read your phone number? Is it up to date? Is it securely fastened to his collar?  Ask a Kriser’s Pack Member about a new, totally adorable, Red Dingo tag if it’s time for an update.
