We sat down with Dagmara, one of our professional dog and cat groomers from our Kildeer, IL store, to talk about some of her favorite products and why she loves his job! This is what she had to say –

Q: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A PET GROOMER?

A: Transformation! I love how the dogs transform under my care.  They look and feel amazing after their spa experience with me.  I have a connection with each and every dog.  I’m patient and work with what they are comfortable doing.  I don’t force them because then they are afraid.  I want them to build confidence and trust me.  They need to feel empowered and not pushed or rushed for it to be a happy, stress-free experience.

Q: WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE AT-HOME GROOMING ITEMS THAT YOU’D RECOMMEND TO YOUR CUSTOMERS?

A: I recommend the Bass Slicker Brush and Resco comb to every customer. The Bass Slicker Brush does a great job brushing every type of coat and does not hurt the dog’s skin or tug on his/her coat.  It’s easy to maneuver and has a very comfortable grip.  The Resco Metal Combis another fantastic tool to comb out a dog’s fur or hair.  It’s long-lasting and high quality and will help keep your pet looking its best inbetween professional baths and grooms with me!

I also love the Kong Zoom Groom. It’s rubber, it massages, its very gentle, and it attracts the hair like a magnet.  This is a great way to bond with your pet and get a lot of fur out.
