Tis the season for spending time outside with your furry friends, and with that comes the risk of flea & tick issues. Warm weather and the outdoors are a perfect combo for the little critters. Before you get bugged, or if you discover a problem, come into Kriser’s and ask a Pack Member which is the best natural product for your pet.
These are just a few of the ones we recommend:
Alzoo Ez-On repels fleas and ticks, with a combination of natural essential oils and compounds, including gereniol, an alcohol which smells like roses, peppermint oil and almond oil. Available in a packet of three single-dose squeeze applicators. Great for both dogs and cats.
Ark Naturals Neem ‘Protect’ Shampoo is a gentle, non-drying formula that cleans dirt and oil from the pet’s skin. The active ingredient, neem oil, naturally kills and repels fleas and ticks. If there is a current infestation, lather up your pet and let it sit for five minutes to kill off the bugs. Coconut oil in the product will also help moisturize and heal. Ark Naturals Neem ‘Protect’ Spray features neem and citronella oils to also kill and repel fleas and ticks. Great for dogs, but use both products with caution on cats.
Mauro Natural Dog Care Pet Repellent Dry Shampoo uses diatomaceous earth to destroy the exoskeleton of fleas and ticks ultimately killing them. Essence of Lavender, Neem and Yarrow oils promote a healthy coat between baths and protects against pests. We recommend this for dogs only.
Tick-SR comes in an easy-to-pour bottle or single-use cloths in pouches. Salicylic acid breaks down the “glue” that helps the tick attach to its host while witch hazel, a natural astringent, removes the tick’s food supply. Benzalkonium chloride is a disinfectant which destroys bacteria, cleans the puncture wound, while preventing infection and denatured alcohol acts as an antiseptic.
