JUNE MESSAGE FROM BRAD
Dear Kriser’s Family,
Welcome to our new email newsletter! Going forward we will be consolidating our emails into a new format that allows us to share even more of our extensive resources and knowledge about pet health and wellness. Each month we will take a deep dive into a specific pet health topic with product suggestions, tips & tricks and contributions from experts in the field. Also look for more personalized special offers, events and pet birthday goodies as we ramp up the benefits of being a member of the Kriser’s family!
This month’s pet wellness topic explores helping your pet stay calm, cool and collected in any situation. Did you know that even small changes in your pet’s daily routine can cause anxiety and stress? It’s really not that different from our own lives. Moving to a new home, house guests and trips to unfamiliar places can all cause disruptions in your pet’s natural rhythms of sleep, digestion and exercise. In the summer months there are the added stressors of high temperatures, thunderstorms, crowded parks and Fourth of July fireworks! Here are some of my favorite ways to help pets cope with both everyday stresses and special events…
Create a safe and comfortable place for them that they can have that extra level of well-being. Include soft beds, toys, treats and some calming music if possible. Try to create some activities for mental stimulation that focus them on the challenge and distract them from the scary unknowns outside.
If weather allows, make sure you prioritize exercise so that they can disperse any pent up anxious energy. Choose cooler times of day and make sure they have plenty of fresh cool water to keep them hydrated.
If you stay calm in stressful situations your pet will notice and mirror your feelings and sense of well-being. They are extremely sensitive to our emotions and nonverbal cues. Channel your inner zen and exude the confidence and calm of a true Pack Leader. Reward them with touch and affection once they have calmed and are showing relaxed body posture.
Here’s to a safe and relaxed start of the Summer season! Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your family.
Sincerely,
Brad Kriser
